HCA in the United States
HCA Inc., also known as Hospital Corporation of America, is the world's largest independent hospital company with a turnover of around $30 billion, 164 hospitals and 106 outpatient centres, serving 14 million patients a year.
HCA in the UK
The overseas division, HCA International, is based in the UK and operates six world-class hospitals in central London. They are The Harley Street Clinic, London Bridge Hospital, The Lister Hospital, The Portland Hospital, The Princess Grace Hospital, and The Wellington Hospital.
HCA International also has a range of outpatient and diagnostic centres, including 30 Devonshire Street, 31 Old Broad Street, the Brentwood Medical Centre in Essex and the Sevenoaks Medical Centre in Kent.
In the heart of Chelsea, HCA Int. has opened private consultation facility Chelsea Consulting Rooms and diagnostic and treatment facility Chelsea Outpatient Centre. In the heart of the city there is the City Of London Medical Centre and Canary Wharf now houses Docklands Healthcare.
There is also now a blood and bone cancer treatment joint venture with the NHS at University College Hospital London together with a young person's cancer unit, The London Gamma Knife Centre, another joint venture with the NHS at St Bartholomew's Hospital in The City of London and Harley Street at Queen's, a private patient cancer centre at the NHS Queen's University Hospital in Romford. In addition, HCA is developing, together with the internationally renowned Christie cancer hospital in Manchester, a new state of the art private patient unit - called The Christie Clinic - for cancer patients from across the North of England.
The most recent addition is the Platinum Medical Centre in St John's Wood in North London, which is the largest private outpatient and diagnostic centre in the UK.

With current developments underway, all of HCA's hospitals in central London will have adult intensive care units (Level 3) by the end of 2011. In addition to the current numbers of paediatric intensive care beds (Level 3) a new intensive care unit for young persons will be opened at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children by the late autumn.
